Clothing manufacturing is the production of finished and ready-to-wear articles of clothing, including shirts, pants, dresses, robes, shoes, hats, headdresses, coats, sweaters, socks, underwear, belts, scarves, jackets, suits, ties, veils, and any other articles of clothing. It is distinguished from textile mills, which manufacture raw cloth which is often used later to create clothing.
Finished garments, shoes, and clothing accessories are included. The finished article is ready to be worn, even though its material may have been made elsewhere.
A textile mill produces cloth and similar sheet materials. Making those materials alone is distinct from turning them into completed clothing.
