GeoSampa building ID
The identifier of a building footprint in the Sao Paulo city map layer published through the GeoSampa portal.
The number comes from the building layer of the Mapa Digital da Cidade, the city's digital map, drawn at 1:1,000 for urbanized areas and covering roughly 2.8 million footprints.
Two to seven digits, without leading zeros.
A footprint is not a building. One tower can rest on several touching footprints, so a record may legitimately carry more than one number. It is also not a property: the tax registration, the lot and the condominium number identify parcels and tax accounts rather than structures, and must not be written here.
The footprints are redrawn from periodic aerial survey, and the city publishes no statement that a number survives a redraw, so a value is best read as belonging to the edition it came from.
