movable sunshades

Movable elements in front of a facade which limit the amount of sunlight entering windows.

Movable sunshades are elements attached to or placed in front of a facade which can be moved manually or automatically to save energy in a building by limiting the amount of sunlight that penetrates the perimeter windows. They often take the form of louvers which can be opened or closed. Screens which roll completely over a window to seal it are not sunshades, but are listed as outdoor window screens.

Sunshades which cannot be opened, raised, or moved are listed as fixed sunshades rather than movable.
