An internal area of a regularly divided building intended for one user or one closely related group of users.
A unit is an internal area of a regularly divided building intended for the usage or occupancy of a single user or closely related single group of users. It is most commonly associated with residential buildings, hotels, and hospitals. A single apartment is one unit.
One apartment is a unit even when it contains several rooms. The grouping is based on the intended user or related group, rather than on each individual room.
Hotels and hospitals also contain units of this kind. The regular division of the building does not require every unit to have the same size or layout.
