privacy barrier
A wall, fence, planting, or other barrier intended to prevent views across it in one or both directions.
A privacy barrier is a wall, fence, berm, planting, or other object whose purpose is to prevent outsiders from seeing across the barrier. It can also form a two-way barrier, for example to separate men and women.
The barrier blocks sightlines for privacy. Preventing physical entry is a different purpose and is not required here.
Visual separation can operate in both directions. A screen between two groups can protect the privacy of each side.
