The present state of a company's existence, including its continuation, transformation, or dissolution.
The business status of a company indicates whether it continues to exist, or whether its existence has been transformed or dissolved.
The status concerns the existence of the company as a whole. Completion of one project or closure of one office does not by itself establish that the company has ceased to exist.
A transformation describes a change in the form of that existence. Dissolution describes its ending; the associated year of foundation or liquidation identifies a date rather than the present state.
