data dump

A collection taken from a reputable data provider that does not preserve the original sources of its individual values.

A data dump is a collection of data taken from a source which amasses useful data, which is reputable in its own right but which does not track its own sources. Because it is otherwise unsourced, data from mass imports is generally superseded by any other admissible source.

The provider has a reputation, but the individual values cannot be followed back through its own source records. A large collection with traceable references does not become a data dump merely because it is imported in bulk.

The missing original provenance explains the stated low rank. When another admissible source supplies the fact, that source can supersede the value taken from the unsourced collection.
