A facility providing medically supervised housing for long-term or recovering patients.

An inpatient clinic is a facility offering temporary or long-term housing with medical supervision to patients needing long-term or palliative care, including patients transitioning from more intensive medical care into independent life.

Housing and medical supervision are provided together. The stay can be temporary during recovery or long-term for continuing care.

Patients moving from intensive treatment toward independent living are included. The facility need not be a general hospital with a full range of emergency services.
