oil distribution
A fixed facility used in the movement of petroleum from its point of extraction to a refinery or point of sale.
An oil distribution site is a fixed, constructed facility instrumental in the transport or shifting of oil from the extraction point to the point of sale. It may include a stopping point in a distribution network or an entire pipeline or similar distribution channel.
The facility is fixed and constructed. An entire pipeline can have this use, as can a distinct transfer or stopping point within the network.
The function is movement between extraction and sale. The definition does not require the site itself to extract or refine the oil.
