aerobics
A place designated for group sessions of rhythmic aerobic exercise, usually with an instructor or prompter.
An aerobics facility is a place designated for group sessions of rhythmic aerobic exercises, usually led by an instructor or following some form of prompter. Sessions are usually accompanied by music, and include a variety of alternating exercises, each maintained for long enough to build endurance.
Participants follow a sequence of rhythmic exercises as a group. A live instructor is usual, but another form of prompting can direct the session.
Music commonly accompanies the exercise without being required. Independent use of exercise equipment is a different arrangement from the coordinated group session.
