A camera-produced image on film, a photographic plate, or a digital medium, used for facts that can be judged visually.
A photograph is an image taken at a distance from its object through a process of mechanical reproduction by means of a camera. It can be registered on film, on a photographic plate, or digitally. Photographs are distinguished from manually- or computer-generated images.
A photograph can be used as a source for visually ascertainable data when there is reason to believe that it is true to life and shows enough information to make a visual judgment.
Data which can be gathered from photographs include floor count, architectural style, facade color, and sometimes facade material.
