restaurant operator
A business which operates, franchises, or lends its brand to any commercial eatery.
A restaurant operator is any individual, group, firm, company, or chain which manages or lends its brand to a particular commercial eatery or take-out facility. This includes individual franchises, independent operators, restaurant chains, fast food chains, and hotel, theater, and casino operators which manage restaurants in their facilities.
The operating relationship can arise through direct management or through a restaurant brand. An individual franchisee and the chain supplying its brand can both be connected to the same eatery.
Take-out facilities qualify alongside restaurants with on-site dining. A hotel or theater operator has this additional role when it manages the restaurant within its premises.
