track length
The length of the longest individual set of rail tracks directly on or within a structure or object.
The track length on any structure or object is the length of the longest set of rail car tracks directly on it or within it. This field can often be applied to structures such as bridges and roller coasters. If there are parallel sets of tracks with different lengths, the value of the longer set is taken as the rail length.
Parallel tracks are compared separately. Adding their lengths would describe a combined track inventory and would exceed the length of any one set.
The measurement follows the track route, including bends. The straight distance between the ends of a curved track does not give its full length.
