Hong Kong CSUID

The Central Spatial Unique Identifier assigned to a building record by Hong Kong's Buildings Department.

The Central Spatial Unique Identifier is the number Hong Kong’s Buildings Department gives one building record, and this field holds it. It is issued centrally so that separate government datasets describing the same building agree on which building they mean.

The number stays with the record through a change of name or of owner, which is what makes it usable as a join key where a name or an address is not.

Hong Kong issues more than one kind of building number. The geo reference and the Occupation Permit number come from the same department and mean different things.
