start of address range
The lowest house number in the address range occupied by a structure, paired with the highest number in that range.
A structure that occupies several consecutive house numbers is recorded with the range rather than with one number per entrance. This field holds the lowest of them.
It is paired with the end of the range, and neither is meaningful alone: a start without an end reads as a single address and understates what the building covers.
House numbers are not always numeric and not always consecutive. Many streets number one side odd and the other even, so a range from 3 to 9 covers four addresses and not seven.
