A unique painted artwork on a large or prominent exterior surface, including permanently intended painted advertisements.
An exterior mural is a unique artwork painted over a large or very prominent section of a structure's facade. Advertisements do not count as murals unless they are intended to be left permanently.
If the image, pattern, or other composition is formed by arranging many single-color tiles, it should be classified as a mosaic instead.
The painting must occupy a large or very prominent part of the facade. A commercial subject is permitted only when the advertisement is intended to remain permanently; temporary advertising does not qualify.
