A place where coffee is sold as a primary product to customers, usually from behind a counter.
A coffeeshop is a place whose main function is to sell coffee to customers, usually from behind a counter, and sometimes with a side assortment of snacks and/or other drinks. It differs from a cafe, which is more like a restaurant with meal offerings and table service.
Coffee is the primary product, while snacks and other drinks can be secondary. A broad meal menu is not required.
A cafe has the restaurant-like meal and table-service arrangement described there. Counter service is usual for a coffeeshop.
