master plan developer
A company which organizes the overall development scheme for a multi-parcel site.
A master plan developer coordinates and oversees the development of a multi-parcel site which encompasses multiple construction projects, often undertaken by one or more other developers. This role generally occurs as the leader of a large-scale development, such as a planned community or a large urban redevelopment.
The developer coordinates the site as a whole across its separate parcels and construction projects. Individual project developers can remain responsible for the buildings within that larger scheme.
The role does not require the master plan developer to carry out every construction project itself. Its responsibility is the overall development scheme linking those projects.
