video arcade

A video arcade is a place where customers or users play electronic games for amusement. It must have several games installed, usually a variety of different types. Users can play individually or in groups, and the games may or may not require payment.

Several installed games distinguish an arcade from a place containing only one game. A variety of game types is usual, and users can play alone or with others.

Payment is optional, so free-play arrangements are possible. Watching a recorded program at a show venue is a different activity from playing the arcade's interactive games.
