escalator replacement begins
Removal of at least one escalator begins in preparation for its replacement.
Escalator replacement in a structure begins when the removal of at least one escalator commences in preparation for its replacement. It does not necessarily involve the replacement of all escalators in the structure, but it must involve at least one whole escalator mechanism.
The replacement must include at least one whole escalator mechanism. The project can leave other escalators in the structure unchanged.
Escalator replacement ends requires the last new escalator in the project to be operational. Commencement of removal is distinct from that operational endpoint.
