Fruit cultivation is the controlled growth of edible seed-bearing (or seedless strains of) fruit plants. This includes both woody and herbaceous plants, and can take the form of a garden, field, or orchard.
Both woody fruit plants and herbaceous fruit crops are included. An orchard is therefore one possible form rather than a requirement for fruit cultivation.
Seedless varieties remain fruit crops. The absence of developed seeds in the harvested fruit does not move their cultivation into another crop category.
