A company which reviews a built object's qualifications to receive an official certification.
A certification auditor is a firm, company, or organization that reviews various features and qualities of a built object (usually after construction is finished), and determines its eligibility for any official certification.
The auditor must generally have independent standing, without close ties to companies responsible for development, construction, or design, so as to provide a trustworthy and objective assessment.
