plastered coating

A facade covered by a layer of protective or decorative material other than paint, which is applied in wet form.

A plastered coating facade consists of a dried layer of stucco, cement, or other substance which is applied as a wet paste. This does not refer to structural concrete, nor to painted surfaces (paint is not considered in determining a facade system).

This system is generally not applied to half-timbered structures, or any other structures where plastered surfaces are used as infill within an exposed framework grid.

The finish is applied as wet paste and dries into a surface layer. Plaster within an exposed structural grid generally belongs to the frame + infill system.
