construction workers (peak)
The maximum number of workers active at one time during the construction of a built object.
The peak number of construction workers is the highest quantity of persons employed in building an object who were physically active on the construction site at one time. These include supervisors and engineers on the site, as well as laborers, but do not include visitors or inspectors. Delivery persons are usually not counted unless they are under contract to bring their products close to the point of installation.
The statistic is a peak simultaneous presence on the construction site. The total workforce employed over an entire project can be larger because different people may work at different times.
On-site supervisors and engineers are included with laborers. Visitors and inspectors remain excluded, and delivery workers meet the stated inclusion only when contracted to bring materials close to installation.
