A barbeque restaurant is a full-service eatery specializing in meats prepared in one of several American barbeque styles. Foods are generally cooked on a grill and/or smoker and served with sauce.

The specialty is one or more American barbecue styles. A grill, smoker, and sauce are usual features rather than a requirement to use every method together.

Mongolian barbecue describes a different customer-selected ingredient and cooking arrangement. The shared name does not make those uses interchangeable.
