A bookstore is a retail outlet whose principal wares are printed books. It may include sections for other media, such as sound and video recordings, magazines, newspapers, etc., and in some countries it is common for them to include cafés; however the majority of its space and business should consist in the sale of books.
Other media and a cafe can accompany the bookstore. They must leave printed books as the majority of the store's space and business.
A newsstand specializes in periodicals. Selling some newspapers or magazines does not change a book-dominated store into that use.
