smoke emission
A place or object used for controlled emission of gases resulting from combustion.
A smoke emission conduit, chimney, or other facility is an object through which the gases resulting from combustion are channeled into the atmosphere or into a collection receptacle.
The gases result from combustion. They can be channeled to a collection receptacle as well as released directly into the atmosphere.
A conduit or exhaust pipe can have this use without taking the form of a freestanding chimney. Steam emission separately describes the release of water vapor from a heating process.
