A company which provides automation technology for a building's mechanical systems.
A building automation company is the firm that makes automation technology to operate a building's heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, security, fire protection, and/or other mechanical systems.
The supplied technology operates building systems. It can concern one or several of the mechanical systems named above; controlling every system in the building is not a condition of the definition.
The automation technology is distinct from the equipment it operates. An HVAC fabricator makes heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, while the building automation company makes technology used to control their operation.
