IABSE Outstanding Structure

The award recognizes structural engineering rather than architecture, and goes to structures that are innovative in their conception, design or construction.

Recipients include buildings as well as bridges and other infrastructure; a building is within the award's scope.

The recognition attaches to the structure and the achievement represented by its design and construction. It differs from IABSE honors for an individual engineer's career or service to the profession.
