dog play
A site designated as a play area for dogs, with no leash or other restraints required.
A dog play area is a site designated for the free activity and socialization of dogs, unrestrained except by the boundaries of the area. It must be a place where no leashes are required, with enough space for dogs to enjoy running around. It may or may not contain fun equipment or obstacles to supplement dogs' play.
Dog play areas are distinguished from dog training areas, or dog agility courses where dogs follow a defined course. Play areas by contrast are generally not for defined or programmatic athletic activities.
The designation permits dogs to move freely within the area. A park where dogs must remain on leashes does not meet this definition, even if walking dogs is a common activity there.
