observation floor height

The vertical distance from the base of a structure to its highest indoor public viewing area.

The observation floor height is entered only for publicly accessible observation areas inside a building. The observation area need not be an entire floor, and may serve additional functions as long as it is periodically available and known to the public at large for window viewing (either free or by admission charge). If more than one such level exists, then the measurement applies to the highest one.

The lower reference is the base of the structure. The upper reference is the qualifying viewing floor, rather than the ceiling above it.

An indoor observation area can occupy part of a floor and share it with another function. The highest qualifying indoor level determines this height even if a separate outdoor observation deck is higher.
