What does SDC mean?

The acronym SDC refers to SKYDB Definitions Code, a body of structured terms and definitions made available under a Creative Commons License (CC Attribution-NoDerivs) by SKYDB. These codes define thousands of data fields and preset values which are used to describe buildings and other places around the world.

The complete list of codes reveals the hierarchical organization of all SKYDB definitions, with links to long and short definitions of each code, plus translations, examples, and graphics.

Standards enable SKYDB to ensure that the data delivered is highly compatible with other industry-recognized data frameworks. This means information can be matched more easily against other databases, as many users need to combine data from many sources.
