How do I create a collection?
When a collection is created, the buildings are organized into sortable lists, an interactive map, photo galleries, and the collection is available across the site's languages.
Collections can be private, shared, or public. Common types are favorite buildings, buildings lived in, or buildings worked on. Typical uses:
Building enthusiasts: lists of favorite buildings, construction projects to follow, designs in a competition. Shared as discussion focal points on forums.
Design professionals: architects, engineers, interior designers can assemble a portfolio across multiple firms.
Tour guides: link a collection from a tour offering. Photos enhance interest, the map clarifies the route.
Architecture professors: list buildings discussed in class. Students can refer to the list, view photos, and locate them on a map.
Travelers: collect buildings to visit on a trip, or organize hotels on a map.
Authors: link a collection so readers can visualize the buildings being written about.
A collection may also carry comments written by its owner. These appear only within the collection, not on the building page or elsewhere.
How to create a collection
Many collections can be created per user. While signed in, go to Target area > Special interest > Collections. The Manage Collections button opens a popup where the default collection can be edited or a new one created. Assign a name, set it to private or public, then add buildings.
To add or remove buildings, open the Netload bar via the purple square at the lower right. Select the collection to work with. Then hover the lightning icon next to a building name and click it, or pick mark/unmark from the menu. This works on scope pages, the map, search results, and the building page itself.
