tram traffic

A passage or right-of-way carrying active tram or streetcar tracks, normally excluding tram stations.

A tram traffic corridor is a passage or right-of-way holding active tracks for trams or streetcars. It does not normally apply to tram stations, even though part of the structure may shelter or house tracks.

The tracks carry trams or streetcars in transit. A tram depot instead parks or stores them while they are out of operation.

A station may shelter tracks without normally receiving this corridor use. The route and the passenger-service facility have distinct purposes.
