Rules, permissions, prohibitions, or requested behaviors governing use of a property or part of it.
Policies are general rules, regulations, guidelines, or requested behaviors applicable to the usage of a property, structure, or part thereof. They include prohibitions and allowances, and may be applicable (if so defined) to particular time slots, areas, or segments of users.
A policy can apply to the whole property or to particular areas, times, or groups of users. A permission for one group need not apply to everyone using the site.
The rule concerns use or behavior. A permanent safety feature is a physical characteristic or installation, distinct from a policy asking users to behave safely.
