green feature
A special property of a structure which contributes to its energy efficiency or environmental sustainability.
A green feature is a feature or aspect of a structure which enhances its environmental friendliness by saving energy and/or reducing waste of environmental resources.
The feature reduces energy demand or consumption of environmental resources. Its function must have that resource-saving relationship; an attractive or natural-looking finish alone does not establish it.
A safety feature protects an object or its users, while a green feature addresses resource use or waste. One installation can perform both functions.
