spacecraft maintenance

Spacecraft maintenance facilities are places where satellites and spaceborne vehicles such as rockets, space shuttles, and spaceships are taken for repairs, inspections, and/or regular upkeep.

The work concerns satellites and vehicles intended for spaceflight. It can involve inspections and routine upkeep as well as a particular repair.

An aircraft maintenance facility works on vehicles operating in the atmosphere. A place that only transmits commands to a satellite is also distinct from the facility where the satellite receives maintenance.
