red violet

Related terms: rose

A somewhat dark red-purple facade color, darker and duller than magenta, represented by hex triplet C71585.

Red violet is about halfway between red and grape, or one third of the way between red and purple (closer to red). It is darker and duller than magenta.

Hex triplet: C71585

The shade lies closer to red than to purple. It differs from the brighter magenta and the more purple grape. The hex triplet is a comparison sample for a range of similar facade colors, rather than an exact-match requirement.
