storage type
The basic arrangement of facilities for storing large quantities of items, commodities, or materials.
The storage type associated with any built object is the basic configuration of any facilities therein used to store large quantities of items, commodities, or material. This configuration determines not only what can be stored, but often how it can be accessed, and may even impose structural requirements on the design of a building.
This field may be assigned to storage facilities and any other place configured for high quantity storage or temporary stowage.
The configuration concerns how the stored material is held and accessed. It is distinct from the number of available storage slots and from the particular goods occupying them at a given moment.
