architectural metalwork fabricator

A manufacturer of non-structural metal elements in a structure which contribute to its design.

Companies which supply non-structural metal components of a building, including balustrades, brises-soleil, and canopies, but excluding facades, structural steel beams, radiators, plumbing, and utilities.

The metal components contribute to the building as architectural features. The defining distinction is their nonstructural use: a metal canopy or balustrade has a different role from a major steel member in the load-bearing framework.

A steel fabricator produces major structural members, and a facade fabricator supplies the applied exterior surface. The exclusions above keep those products, and mechanical or utility equipment, separate from this architectural metalwork.
