pedway connection

Direct indoor access to a public passageway network linking buildings across at least two city blocks.

A pedway connection indicates that a structure has direct indoor access to a public network of passageways connecting multiple buildings over two or more city blocks. Connections between blocks can be by tunnels or enclosed bridges, and connections within blocks can also be through walls. Public skybridges and indoor passageways can form parts of a pedway network.

Simple connections to buildings on the same block, which are not part of inter-block networks, do not count as pedway connections. Private skybridges, tunnels, and passageways also do not count as public pedways.

Both public access and the network's reach across blocks matter. A connection to only a neighboring building can qualify when it gives access to that wider network, but an isolated same-block link cannot.
