concrete tiles

Roofing made from tile or shingles of concrete, often reinforced with fiberglass.

Concrete tile roofing is built from small to medium sized pieces of concrete, often reinforced with fibers such as fiberglass. It is a heavier roofing material than many other forms of tile, and therefore requires a stronger substructure.

The roof surface is assembled from discrete concrete units. Fiber reinforcement can be present, but the concrete tile or shingle format remains the identifying construction.

A concrete slab has a continuous bare surface, while ceramic tiles are baked clay or similar ceramic material. A shared tile profile does not make the materials identical.
