Objects or sites whose purpose is mainly to enhance the surrounding environment.
Aesthetic or decorative objects are places and structures designed mainly to add artistic, cultural, visual, or other sensory enhancement to a landscape or locale.
Artistic or sensory improvement of the surroundings is a main purpose of the object. Attractive design alone is insufficient when the object exists principally for another function.
An artwork and an ornament distinguish particular aesthetic purposes. A memorial has a commemorative purpose, even where its design also has visual appeal.
