ore storage
Bulk storage of raw metal-bearing stone intended for metal extraction, excluding refined metals and other stone uses.
Ore storage facilities are places for bulk storage of raw metal-bearing natural stone, usually transported directly from a mine. This does not include storage of refined metals, nor of rocks used for purposes other than extraction of metals.
The rock is held for recovery of its metal content. Stone stored for carving or another non-metal-extraction purpose belongs to a different storage use.
Refined metal has already passed beyond the ore stage. Its bulk storage belongs to metal storage, even when it is near a mine or ore-handling facility.
