A company which designs mechanical systems which clear waste from a structure.

A sanitary engineering company is a firm responsible for designing mechanical installations that govern sanitary functions, including toilet and water drainage, waste disposal, and cleaning systems.

The designed installations serve sanitary functions within the building. Drainage, disposal, and cleaning are included functions, rather than limiting the work to the removal of one type of waste.

Plumbing engineering concerns water or liquid-chemical distribution systems. Sanitary engineering identifies the sanitary purpose of the installations, while plumbing contracting concerns their assembly and installation.
