An outdoor site where ornamental plantings or natural features are arranged in a controlled environment.
A landscaped area is a distinct outdoor site where the land is covered by controlled plantings of grasses, flowers, bushes, herbs, trees, other plants, rocks, gravel, sand, or other natural features for purposes other than consumption.
The site arranges plants or other natural features for a purpose other than consumption. Rock, sand, and gravel can be part of that arrangement even where planting is limited.
Cultivated land instead supports a planned harvest or animal feeding. The purpose of the controlled landscape distinguishes those places.
