A person or entity with the right to name a structure selects its official name.
The name of a structure is chosen whenever its owner, the owner of the proposed project, or any person or entity with the right to assign its official name, selects the official name. This event may occur any number of times in the life of a structure up to commencement of its demolition.
The choice must be made by someone entitled to assign the official name. Informal names suggested by people without that authority do not establish this event.
Name announced covers subsequent registration, recording, or public announcement. Choosing the name does not require public release, and a structure can have more than one official naming event before demolition begins.
