Relationships describe an object by indicating what connections exist between it and any number of other objects or defined entities.

A relationship concerns at least two distinct referents. It describes their connection, such as an organizational role, rather than an intrinsic dimension of just one object.

The role of a company concerns what it does in relation to an object. The object's own name or measurement answers a different question from that connection.
