lighting manufacturer
A company that manufactures building lights and lighting equipment, excluding light bulbs.
A lighting manufacturer is the company which creates the lights and lighting systems used throughout a building, including ceiling lights, floodlights, switches, control panels, etc. This is not used for the manufacturer of light bulbs.
The manufactured equipment provides lighting or forms part of the lighting system. The included controls and switches serve that system, so the product range extends beyond the visible light fitting itself.
Light bulbs are expressly outside this definition. A building automation company supplies technology that can operate lighting together with other systems, while lighting manufacture concerns the lights and equipment of the lighting system.
