tailor shop

Retail space where customers can take clothes or other cloth items for adjustments or repairs.

A tailor shop is a retail service area where skilled laborers specialize in making changes to articles of clothing and similar items. Typically a customer will drop off items needing adjustments or repair, and pick them up at the shop later.

The specialization is altering or repairing existing clothing and similar items. A customer can leave an item for later collection rather than wait for the work.

Dry cleaners can offer tailoring alongside cleaning. Cleaning alone does not establish the alteration and repair service of a tailor shop.
